Passenger's Guide

Traveling with animals

If you wish to travel with your pet, contact the airline and inquire about the transportation conditions.

The transport of animals in the cabin or the hold of an aircraft depends on each airline’s general conditions, available space, the type or weight of the animal, the appropriate transport container (e.g., carrier), the type of aircraft, and restrictions regarding entry into the destination country.

Can I travel by plane with my pet?

Not all airlines allow pets, with the exception of guide dogs. Those that do have criteria for determining where the animal travels and what fees apply. These criteria include the animal’s size, weight, species, and breed.

Most airlines only allow small pets or guide dogs to travel in the cabin. Medium or large pets are transported in the cargo hold.

Therefore, it is advisable to contact airlines, compare conditions, book the ticket, and find out what documents are needed well in advance to choose the most convenient solution for you.
