Santiago

The economic and political center of Cape Verde, Santiago is vibrant and home to the capital and largest city, Praia. It is also the largest island in the archipelago, bringing together various European and African influences. This diversity is reflected in everything: in the people, culture, identity, and unique, captivating way of life.

There is much to do on this island. There are various cultural events throughout the island, great café restaurants both on the beach and in some inland spots, historical centers, and many tourist attractions, along with several beaches to relax on.

To reach the island, there are several routes connecting the capital to the outside, with flights from Portugal, France, the United States, among others. Domestically, there are internal flights and maritime connections.
