Cabo Verde Airports Certified with Level 1 Carbon Accreditation

Cabo Verde Airports has received the Level 1 Carbon Emissions Accreditation Certificate – Carbon Emissions Mapping – from the Airports Council International Africa (ACI), granted to all airports and airfields in the country.

This accreditation demonstrates the company’s efforts in reducing carbon emissions, recognizing our full commitment and engagement with the environmental cause.

The Airport Carbon Accreditation is a dedicated program for managing carbon emissions at airports. Through this program, ACI assesses and acknowledges the efforts of airports to manage and reduce their carbon emissions through seven levels of certification: mapping, reduction, optimization, neutrality, transformation, transition, and level 5, the highest in the program.

To achieve these goals, several measures must be implemented, including reducing energy and fuel consumption, transitioning to renewable energy sources, and adopting strategies for reducing and offsetting greenhouse gas emissions (Net Zero).
